POLICE are seeking a man with an inch-long scar on his right cheek after he ran and grabbed a teenager on her way to catch a bus in Church Hill.
The incident happened at about 5.30am on Thursday, December 7 after the 19-year-old woman walked from her home in the Arley Close area to Exhall Close.
Police said the woman was on foot on her way to a near-by bus stop when she became aware of a man walking behind her who then ran towards her and grabbed her from behind.
The woman struggled and broke free before running off towards the bus stop on Church Hill Way.
Police said the man followed the woman but she managed to jump on a bus which had just arrived.
The man, who did not speak, didn't follow the woman onto the bus.
Pc Cathy Mitchell, of Redditch police, said: This was a frightening incident for a young woman to suffer, she was walking alone on her way to work early in the morning when without warning she was grabbed from behind.
Although it was early there were people in the area also on their way to work and I would urge anybody who saw the man or the incident or has any information that could assist the police to phone 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
The man was described as white, in his early 20s, with a big build, collar length black hair, clean-shaven with an inch long scar on his right cheek.
He was wearing a long ankle length cream coloured mac buttoned at the front with white coloured Adidas trainers.
