MEMBERS of a town group are preparing for a busy 2001 after making a lasting impression this year.
Stourport Civic Society's biggest feat of 2000 was the publishing of its book Images of England - Stourport-on-Severn.
Now the group is looking to boost sales of the book to help with its various projects in 2001.
Marketing and fund-raising officer Jean Groves said: "Sales of the book have gone well, but obviously the more we can sell the more we can develop our work within the community.
"The society will use the proceeds to continue to maintain and expand its extensive archive of old Stourport photographs, as well as to undertake further local history publications and research."
She added: "The funds will also help to improve our regular newsletter which gives details of all our events reflecting all aspects of the town."
Copies of the book can be obtained from district post offices, newsagents and booksellers.
Old photographs for the archive can be sent to president Anna Carter at 6 Lichfield Street, Stourport, DY13 9EU.
Membership enquiries and event details are available on the group's website at http://members.aol.com/stourportcivic/index.html
