A SMALL group of craftspeople in Herefordshire's Golden Valley got together 10 years ago to promote their work.
Nowadays they have widened their scope to take in skilled artists from around the county, but the name Golden Valley Crafts has remained.
Their next craft fair will be in St Katherine's Hall, Ledbury, tomorrow (Saturday, December 16) from 10am, when wood turners, weavers, jewellers, decoupage artists and soft toy makers will be displaying their wares.
Chairman Maurice Bagley, of Shenmore, Madley, who decorates stationery and cards with pressed flower and leaf prints, said: "We have a core of about 15 members and another five or six who sometimes join us from further away.
His wife, Mary, the secretary and treasurer of the group, began by making hand painted and silver jewellery, but now specialises in five-stick weaving, making cushions, bags and bedspreads.
The group has a full programme of shows throughout the year and is preparing a bid for a Lottery grant to fund an exhibition somewhere different from the craft fairs, such as Leominster, where it would reach a different public.
