I am afraid I must again raise the issue of parking in the town centre of Malvern.
Since the Council saw fit to flog the main car park on Edith walk to the Waitrose store, there is now only one place even remotely near the centre where one may park all day. That is the one on Victoria Road.
I work for a small business in the town and it is necessary for me to park in the centre of town all day. If one wishes to park in the Waitrose car park all day, one is stung for £5, as I discovered today to my cost and extreme annoyance.
Where is the "level playing field" which every business in the town should be entitled to? Is the council going to offer for sale public car parking to all town centre businesses?
Not only has Waitrose done serious damage to the smaller food shops in the town (you need only ask the traders for verification of this), but it now inconveniences anyone who needs to park in the town in order to work!
