A MALVERN prop forward is 'over the moon' at being selected for the England Under 19 Squad for the forthcoming Six Nations Championship campaign.

Daniel Chesham, aged 18, is a member of the Worcester Rugby Academy and represented Worcester Under 21s.

He is currently taking a gap year and hopes to combine a rugby career with study when he starts a HND Sports Science course at University College, Worcester, in September.

Daniel, lives in Graham Road, Malvern and was a pupil at The Chase High School, regularly trains with Worcester's professional squad and aims to become a professional rugby player.

He has been training with the England Under 19 squad over the past few weeks and received a letter on Saturday informing him that he had been included in the 16-strong senior squad.

Daniel, who is 110kg and 5ft 10"tall, will be attending training and fitness testing at Twickenham on this Sunday and Monday.

This is Daniel's first taste of international representative rugby and his aim is to make the England Under 19 squad for the FIRA Under 19 World Cup in Chile in June.

Daniel said: "I'm over the moon at the moment although I don't think it has really sunk in.

"Maybe I'll start to believe it when I'm at Twickenham, I'm just aiming at making the starting team and enjoying the experience."

Earlier this year Daniel went to South Africa to represent the Great Britain Colleges U19s side.
