NEWTOWN had their hardest match so far this season against Witley Warriors in the Mercian Elgar Under 10s Junior League due to bad weather conditions making the pitch almost unplayable.
WITLEY WARRIORS 1, NEWTOWN SPORTS BOYS 3
Newtown started with their usual vigour looking for openings from the off. David Milward and Lee Gittings used the flanks well to push forward creating chances and were both unlucky not to be on the scoresheet.
Their hard work paid off when the ball was pushed through to Marc Twinberrow to score the first goal.
In the second half Newtown continued to pressurise with Lee mason working hard in the centre of midfield for Marc Twinberrow to score his second.
Witley found their form after this and keeper Stuart Johnson made save after save only to be beaten when defenders Michael Summers and James Crane were drawn out wide and hit on the break. Marc Twinberrow hit his hat-trick with minutes left when Lee Mason painfully intercepted a goal kick and laid the ball off before doubling up in agony.
Newtown are sponsored by Premier Letting.
