SUPERMARKET chain Iceland Ltd is making sure it is not left out in the cold this winter by expanding its on-line appliance showroom.
The company, which has a branch in Worcester's CrownGate, has added Bosch, AEG and Whirlpool appliances to its stocks available to internet shoppers. Demand for on-line shopping has soared this year, prompting the chain to branch out from its Greenpeace-approved brand Kyoto.
"The internet has proved to be a valuable market for us," said Steve Sweeney, appliances marketing manager.
"While many dot.coms have failed over recent months, our sales just keep increasing.
"We are finding that as people become more confident in using the internet and buying on-line, they are prepared to purchase all sorts of goods.
"Buying goods on-line can save a lot of time and effort - you can do it in your lunch hour."
