I NORMALLY take George Cowley's comments with a pinch of salt. But with regard to his attack on me saying that my policy on the environment is to increase pollution, I must stress that he is, of course talking absolute rubbish (You Say, December 7).
I believe that he has totally missed the point of my letter which was about increasing trade in Worcester and nothing to do with pollution.
I stated that to increase trade for Worcester businesses in future developments, there should be more affordable car parking made available, as in the Kidderminster retail park.
This would give people a choice to use public transport or their own cars. Obviously George does not drive.
When I look at the number of shops that have gone to the wall in Lowesmoor, and the traffic congestion in Barbourne caused by the introduction of bus lanes, which leads to far more pollution, I know I would prefer the children of the future to have cleaner air by keeping the traffic flowing, not stagnating it.
Come on George, put your politics to one side and think of what is needed by the people of the Faithful City and have a commonsense approach to help the traders of Worcester and look at what the citizens want.
