AN outbreak of thefts of Christmas lights has led Kidderminster Police to warn the public to give added protection to their decorations.
Several sets of lights were stolen over the weekend after thieves cut wires and removed them from the front of people's homes.
Spokeswoman Caroline Schubert said police were unsure if the thefts were carried out by the same people, but warned: "Obviously it is very difficult to protect outdoor lighting.
"However, we suggest using a few cable ties to attach lights, as this makes removal of the lights more time consuming and so may act as a deterrent to would-be thieves."
