PLANNING chiefs at Redditch Council are hoping to encourage children to take an active part in the future of their town.
Officers will soon be compiling Redditch's Local Plan, which sets out the way the town should develop over the next 15 years.
As a result, public consultation is important and school children and college students will be invited to put forward their views.
Planning technician Alison Grimmet said: Our aim is to involve people of all ages and we will be involving the schools in Redditch.
Mrs Grimmet said volunteers were also being sought to join the council's discussion panels which would be used in the consultation process.
As an added bonus, members would even be paid.
