REDDITCH Regents basketball club are expecting to be awarded a win over Avon Valley after their league opponents failed to show on Sunday.
A lack of players prompted an eleventh hour withdrawal and left Regents playing out an inter-club friendly. Coach Dave Bradshaw has been left wondering whether he will ever see twin towers forwards Andy Swift and Lee Dowling in tandem after a series of injuries and postponements.
Swift joined the club seven weeks ago but is yet to line up alongside Dowling.
The Arrow Vale club expect to be awarded the points and Avon Valley will probably face a fine from league officials. Regents return to action at home to Warley B on Sunday, January 14 (tip-off 8.15pm).
Small forward Lester Green should shake off a troublesome achilles problem and guard Lewis Young (ankle) and two spot Adam Jefferies (work commitments) are in the frame.
