CAMPAIGNERS battling to stop Tesco from building a supermarket at St John's were due to present a petition at County Hall today.
A petition containing more than 1,200 signatures was to be handed over to the chairman of Worcestershire County Council, Peter Carter.
Tesco has proposed razing Christopher Whitehead High School in St John's and putting a store and houses on the site.
A replacement school, costing about £12m, could be built at either Grove Farm or Earl's Court Farm.
But the protesters - who put petitions in shops around St John's - claim the supermarket would lead to congestion and would kill off small shops in St John's.
