SPA gained sweet revenge for last year's double defeat against their local rivals. After going down 1-0 to a Pinches goal in the 24th minute, it didn't look promising.
All this after Spa had hit the post twice and had a header cleared off the line. But Spa fought back and in the 39th minute, Carl Nesbitt put Danny Ryan through who equalised from 12 yards. Droitwich went 2-1 up in the 44th minute. A Gary Cleaver free kick was headed home by Nesbitt. Droitwich took a 3-1 lead just after the interval. Cleaver's corner was helped on by Anthony Johnston for Nick West to stab home from three yards. Spa went 4-1 up in the 72nd minute when Mick Brown chased a long ball, beat the defender and cracked home a 20 yard stunner. Droitwich got their fifth five minutes from time. Good work from Brown and Ryan allowed Nesbitt to blast home his 13th goal of the season from 25 yards.
