A CUTNALL Green teenager was so intimidated by a gang of youths he agreed to watch out for them while they broke into a car, Worcester magistrates heard.
Russell Fensom admitted to police he had kept watch while others broke into a Honda Shuttle in Ombersley Street West, in Droitwich, on Sunday March 26.
A Pioneer stereo, money and food worth £347 was taken from the vehicle.
Fensom, who admitted theft last Wednesday, told officers he was involved with the crime, which caused £600 worth of damage to the vehicle.
Defending lawyer Barrie Newton said the 18-year-old, of School Lane, had been influenced by youngsters with criminal reputations and convictions.
He said: "In many circumstances, people become offenders when they fall under the influence of others.
"My client had no previous convictions before March and the trauma of being in court is not lost on him.
"He had repeated and unwelcome visits from these undesirables which have resulted in him losing two jobs and it has influenced his health. It all comes down to fear."
Fensom was fined £60 and ordered to pay £100 compensation with £55 court costs.
