THORNFIELDS has vowed a health club will still be included in the new-look Kingfisher Centre, despite news that the firm signed up for it has gone bust.

The UK division of South African-based Healthlands has gone into receivership and its plans for a club in the Kingfisher Centre have been scrapped.

But Thornfields spokesman Eileen Connelly said they were confident a health and fitness club would still be part of the project.

She said: "I have absolutely no doubt a fitness club will go ahead as we had a great deal of interest from a number of other parties.

"Nobody has actually signed yet but we are 100 per cent confident the new development will have a health and fitness club."
