WORCESTER'S MP has been challenged to meet his constituents and debate fox hunting.

Tim Pinney, chairman of the Worcestershire Countryside Alliance, says Mike Foster should allow the public to quiz him.

The MP, who has led the campaign to ban hunting with hounds, is already set to meet Mr Pinney to discuss the issue.

"I'm delighted he's at long last agreed to meet me to discuss this issue," said Mr Pinney.

"I'm however very disappointed that he still blatantly refuses to hold such a meeting in front of his constituents.

"It's my belief he owes it them to hold at least one debate on this issue in his own constituency.

"After all, his views have been aired almost everywhere else except in Worcester."

Mr Pinney has suggested a public debate be held early next year.

He says the event should be sponsored, with proceeds going to the city's Maggs Day Centre.

But the Worcester MP said that if Mr Pinney wanted a public debate he should put himself forward as a Parliamentary candidate,

"Mr Pinney clearly doesn't understand," he said.

"On one hand he says I'm spending too much time on this issue, and I should concentrate on dealing with my constituency.

"He then says I should engage in a public debate on the same issue and he's not even a constituent.

"His hypocrisy is so strong I sometimes have difficulty containing myself.

"Nothing will be gained
