FOUR students achieved the rank of black belt first dan at a Kidderminster Ju-Jitsu Kwai grading.
Paul Dealey, Bob Deardon, Tess Williamson and Dragan Skrbic went through a two-and-a-half-hour examination of their skills in the discipline.
And the four showed they were capable of defending themselves from all kind of attack.
Four novices - Lee Beard, Matt Binnion, Richard Perry and Sean MacNamarra - won yellow belts in their first grading.
Maureen Kirk was promoted to second level green belt.
Sensei Ron Bamfield, an eighth dan, sensei Mick Matthews, fifth dan, and sensei Mick Walker, fifth dan, were on the grading panel.
