MALVERN Rugby Club can go five points clear at the top of Midlands Two West with victory at Selly Oak on Saturday.
The Spring Lane club moved three points ahead of second-placed Hinckley on Saturday with a fine 30-13 win over Bromsgrove and now look set to power on for the rest of the campaign.
After seeing off the challenge of Hinckley, Luctonians and now Bromsgrove, the champions look set to repeat last year's feat when they won the competition.
Selly Oak have lost seven out of 10 games this season and will put up little challenge to the leaders.
Saturday's defeat represented a blow for Bromsgrove who, prior to the Malvern match, had gone seven games unbeaten. Meanwhile, in Midland One, Hereford will be bidding to get their season back on track after last week's postponed clash with Broadstreet. The Belvadere Lane club have been without a league game now for more than a month due to postponements.
They have not played a Midland One match now since November 18 when they lost 22-5 to Broadstreet.
