A REVAMP of Stourport's riverside amusements has been given the go-ahead by district planning chiefs.
Among operator Shipley and Sons' plans for the site are extension of the existing amusement arcade and relocation of the dodgems and roller coaster from the front to the rear.
The front of the site will be used for small rides and a refreshment and seating area.
The amusement centre itself will be extended at the back to make room for a children's play area. A toilet block and workshop will also be constructed.
Members of Wyre Forest's planning committee approved Shipleys' application, taking into account their officers' view that "the refurbishment of what is becoming to look a rather tired site is much welcome".
The officers added that the amusements were "an important part of the economy of Stourport".
