INTEREST AND LEISURE CLUB: The Christmas meeting at the British Legion was the last one for the year and it was very well attended.
The festive spirit prevailed with many members wearing fantastic hats and Christmas attire.
After the very brief business was completed the secretary, Barbara Tarplett read a very funny poem about serving on a committee.
The dancers, the Blockley Tappers, were then introduced and performed a very amusing dance routine to Keep Young and Beautiful, dressed as cleaning ladies and wielding brooms.
During the short interval Barbara read some more seasonal poems, which were much appreciated.
The Blockley Tappers again took the stage to do an original train routine dance to the famous Glen Miller Chattanooga Choo Choo.
They left the stage to the sound of appreciative applause.
Mince pies and teas were served, the meeting then closed.
In the evening many members went to the traditional carol concert at the fire college.
MUMMERS PLAY: Today (Thursday) there is a Mummers Play workshop for children aged between eight to 12, in the district council offices at Moreton.
HELP CENTRE CLOSEDOWN: The North Cotswolds Voluntary Help Centre closes for the Christmas season at 1.30pm on Friday and reopens on January 2, at 9.30am.
