Rosemary Wood celebrated her 60th birthday by retiring yesterday - after 45 years at Gus Home Shopping, formerly Kays of Worcester.
The accounts assistant witnessed the computer revolution in the early 1970s and has worked in four different premises during her time with the catalogue shopping giant.
"I thought it was a nice day to go on," said Mrs Wood , who lives in St John's with her husband of 40 years.
She received a truck full of gifts at a party thrown for her in the Directors Restaurant of the firm's Bromyard Road office, attended by around 70 colleagues.
"I got more gifts than I could ever imagine," said Mrs Wood, who said she had worked with some "really lovely" people.
"I was a in a dream most of the day."
Flowers, brooches, a gold locket and a crystal fruit bowl were just some of the gifts received by the birthday girl who started in the sales recording office in 1956.
"In those days, we keyed everything in by hand, there were no computers," said Mrs Wood, who maintains she's no good with figures.
"The computer works all the figures out!" she said.
Now she plans to "relax for a while".
"We'll go out for meals, go visiting, on holiday - I haven't thought about it yet."
