ST Mary's Church was full on Sunday evening for Carols by Candlelight.
The choir sang several items which were enjoyed by all and together with the readings and message from the Rev Chris Moss added to the very moving service. Thank you to everyone who helped to decorate the church, which looked beautiful.
Once again the children of Longdon St Mary's School delighted us with their annual play. Alice through the Looking Glass was performed with enthusiasm and enjoyment with all the children in the school participating. The costumes were magnificent and thanks must go to the staff and parents for all their hard work.
On Thursday, December 28 a disco for children aged between 4-12 years will be held at Longdon Village Hall from 7-9pm. Entrance is £1 and refreshments will be available.
St Mary's Christmas Fair was well supported last Saturday despite the floods. Over £500 was raised for church funds. Thank you to all who helped with this.
There will be carols and mince pies at the Vicarage on Saturday, December 23 starting at 6.30pm. This is open to all who live in the Benefice - drop in at any time. This year donations will be given to Longdon Leapfrogs our excellent local playgroup.
On Christmas Eve the Crib Service takes place at St Mary's Church at 5pm. This delightful service is especially suitable for young children but all ages are welcome.
On Christmas Day there will be a Family Communion Service at St Mary's beginning at 10am.
On New Year's Eve a Benefice Communion Service will be held at 10.30am at St Mary's.
