AFTER all these recent vicious murders, I believe the only answer is the death penalty.

For far too long, we have suffered from the machinations and shedding of crocodile tears as to the effect of sentencing on the criminal.

We have sheltered fed and pandered to the convicted criminal and neglected the innocent victims of these crimes in the process.

For goodness sake, no criminal has to commit a crime; he does it of his own free will. The victim, however has no such choice. He or she just has to suffer.

Much of the Press delights in publicising and glorifying all the gory trivial details of any punishment meted out to wrongdoers and this is one of the fundamental causes of the present troubles as it glorifies the event and encourages others to follow suit.

Criminals should be shown no mercy.
