I HAVE just read the contribution from A Knittel regarding "hunt speak" (You Say, December 21) and feel that I must write to set the record straight.

I am not going to mince my words with this woman any more because, quite simply, she spouts nothing but propaganda.

She is a vegan who opposes the farming of animals for meat. In her world, you would all have to live on a diet of lettuce, onions, rice and lentil pie!

She supports Mike Foster's anti-hunting crusade, yet opposes angling which, of course, Mr Foster approves of.

From a personal point of view, I also get fed up with her and her friends constantly pointing a video camera in my face.

She states in her letter that there is documented evidence across the country that hunts build homes for breeding and feeding foxes.

Membership

I would like to point out to her that she needs to check her facts very carefully before spouting off on matters that she does not understand.

As for the "big wigs" in the Countryside Alliance who she refers to, then once again, she has not checked her facts.

The Alliance has a huge membership and a following right across the UK, unlike her chosen organisation, The League Against Cruel Sports, which only has a tiny membership.

I don't think that Ms Knittel speaks for anyone other than a tiny minority of people.

Recent polls are beginning to suggest that the majority of people in this country do not wish to see hunting banned - perhaps because more of the public are beginning to look at the facts and not listening to the propaganda coming from people like Anita Knittel.
