A WORCESTER mother has hit out at thieves who stole her son's Christmas presents from around their tree.

Kim Fisher said she was "absolutely gutted" after discovering burglars had broken into her Ronkswood home.

They took her Panasonic combination TV and video, a black and silver music centre, and the gifts.

These included a Bob the Builder toy and a train set for Miss Fisher's two-year-old son, Cameron.

Her boyfriend, Alan Clifford, also had gifts stolen, which had been sent over from his family in Ireland.

Clothes, chocolates, jackets, jumpers and pyjamas were among the haul taken on Thursday night as Miss Fisher, of Wakefield Close, was late-night shopping in the city.

She returned home with Cameron to find the back door open.

"I couldn't understand at first what had happened but then we saw that things were missing," said Miss Fisher.

"I called out to my neighbour and he came and checked the house because I was worried that they were still inside.

"We really can't believe what's happened. Luckily, my son didn't understand what's happened.

"He was really pleased because we had a policeman in the house.

"I feel really angry because they've completely ruined our Christmas. They've even taken our TV and video. I'm absolutely gutted.

"One of my neighbours has been really kind.

"They brought round a bag of toys for my son to play with at Christmas.

"It's just so sad because I know someone's bought Cameron a video cassette for Christmas but now he won't be able to watch it."

A spokesman for Worcester police said burglary is always distressing for the victims.

"The family concerned have had their Christmas ruined," he said.

"If you have any information relating to this burglary, please contact us."
