PRE-CHRISTMAS match results start with the Starlets Veterans event at Moorlands Farm on Tuesday. Stourport's Brian Hill pole fishing pinkies at Bank Pool Peg 18 for a top 18-7-0 of carp. Second was Harold Willey (Kidderminster) 11-10-0, third Peter Taylor (Redditch) 11-2-0.
At Woodlands View, Tony Holmes (Slapheads) won the Affordable Open from Arles Pool Peg Seven where he waggler fished maggots for 66-0-0 of carp. Second Alan Burton (Fishermans Friend) 32-11-0, third Mike Williams (Shrews Bait) 30-4-0.
On Wednesday the Arles and High Pools Open saw some very good catches, headed by Mark Bedford (Spartans) with a waggler and maggot carp haul of 86-12-0 from Arles Peg Seven. Second, Lee Ripper (Slapheads) 72-12-0, third John Howell (Haynes Tackle) 57-7-0.
The Astwood Fisheries Bluebell Pool open was won by Birmingham's Paul Hanford (Weoley Castle WMC) with 21-6-0 of carp taken with pole and maggots from Peg 19. His clubmate Ron Fowler followed with 12-0-0, third John Halfpenny (Astwood) 10-4-0.
John Cockayne (Fosters Tipton) was a clear winner at the Moorlands Farm open when he pole-fished corn at Bank Pool Peg 20 for 65-8-0. Bob Jones (Moorlands) followed with 36-2-0, third Terry Stanley (West Mids) 26-4-0.
The Thursday Special was a close affair with Birmingham's Mick Trueman (Avenue Social) taking the decision by alternating pole and waggler with maggots at Bank Pool Peg 15 for 31-11-0, third Clive Munslow (Preston Inovations) 29-12-0.
