MIKE Pryce wrote (Evening News, December 12) of steam trains. In the late 1940s, Eddie Styler and I would cycle two miles to the Railway Bridge leading to Broadway station.
We would fritter away two hours waiting for three steam trains with nameplates to thunder past - usually the same three names each day. We carefully crossed the names off in a little book.
