Littleton 3, All Blacks 1
LITTLETON almost took the lead after ten minutes. Darren Reeves shooting on the turn from 20 yards, hit the post with the keeper well beaten. A minute later they went one up. From a corner on the right the ball fell to Tim Davies who hit a crisp left footed shot across the keeper into the net.
The decisive goal when it came in the 73rd minute was well worth waiting for. A pass from Neil Hunt found Des Cox who was some 25 yards out. He took the ball in his stride and went past about four defenders before calmly slotting past the keeper.
Another super goal eight minutes later settled the game. The ball was cleared to Perry Beddoes some 35 yards out. He quickly controlled it and hit an unstoppable shot past the startled keeper into the roof of the net. A neat interpassing move saw Mark Langfield score a well deserved consolation goal for the All Blacks.
