A SECOND successive late postponement brought more frustration for Evesham players, officials and supporters. The club's Boxing Day clash at Solihull was given the thumbs up at 9am, but again when the match referee arrived he felt he had no option but to postpone the game.
"There was no way it could have been played," Common Road secretary Mike Peplow explained.
"There was ice on the surface and I just couldn't believe they got everybody up to the ground."
United's Western Division championship rivals had a mixed day.
Bilston returned to winning ways. After Saturday's 3-3 draw they won 3-2 at Blakenall.
Hinckley, though, were on the wrong end of the same scoreline at Shepshed, while Tiverton and Mangotsfield shared the spoils in North Devon.
Evesham visit Sutton Coldfield on Saturday before starting the new year on home territory when Bromsgrove Rovers visit Common Road on Monday night (7.30pm).
Two nights later, Phil Mullen takes his troops to Cinderford in the hope of completing their FA Umbro Trophy tie. United's juniors are scheduled to entertain Malvern Town tonight in the Worcestershire FA Youth Cup (7.30).
