ENVIRONMENT chiefs are producing a strategy on air quality to safeguard the health of Droitwich Spa residents.
Wychavon District Council will produce the plan following extensive research by its environmental health staff.
The authority is required by law to carry out a review and assessment of air quality in its area.
Pollutants such as carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, and sulphur dioxide have been monitored.
Wychavon completed the first stages of its review and is confident air quality across the district will meet Government standards.
Wychavon's environmental protection manager, Melanie Bloyce-Ellis, said the air quality strategy would safeguard people's health.
The council also aims to look at issues such as indoor air quality, odours and other pollutants which are linked to poor health.
