WORCESTER City midfielder Andy Ellis' latest comeback attempt looks set to be scuppered by the weather.
City boss John Barton had planned to arrange a full-scale practice match at training tonight, in which Ellis would have been involved.
However, heavy snow means that the session may be cancelled due to the problems of getting players in to St George's Lane from a wide area.
Former Woking player Ellis has still not played since breaking his leg in a match at Tamworth almost exactly a year ago, and his recovery plans were hit during the summer when a hairline fracture was diagnosed.
He has been making steady progress in training since, but plans to give him some action in the Central Conference have been hit by several postponements.
Meanwhile, Barton has paid tribute to Ray Woods' role over the two Christmas games.
The former City winger has come out of retirement to help City through their injury crisis.
Barton said: "He has done well for us. Somebody with all the experience and knowhow that he has stands out like a beacon."
Midfielder Steve Lutz (ankle) and striker Micky Cotter (foot) have a chance of recovering from injuries in time for Saturday's trip to high-flying Crawley Town but Ian Cottrill remains doubtful with a calf injury.
