RICHARD Smith clinched victory in Worcester St John's CC's Boxing Day cycling time-trial held in frosty conditions.
Smith, who raced round the 10 miles Clerkenleap course in 24-29, beat Kempsey's Lee Finch by just under two minutes.
Finch, riding for Cycles Clements, finished in 26-11, while third place went to Adrian Murray in 29-31, just one second ahead of Mike Potter.
The other top 10 places went to Alan Bennett, 29-45, Rob Finch, 29-49, Mike Amery of VC Sevale, 29-58, Kelvin Ashman 30-02, Rick Allen, 30-11, and Maureen Burrows 30-33. Maureen Burrows was the first woman rider, and Roger Alma the first tricyclist.
The presentation of prizes was made by Bob Short, who marshalled the race.
