EVENLODE: The church was tastefully decorated and the services throughout Christmas Day were both cheerful and hearty. The Rev H J Kelsall (rector) preached in the morning. In the evening a service of song with carols, by D Bridge and Stainer, was well rendered by the choir, augmented by the Sunday School children, who had been carefully trained by Mr J Trollope.

Shipston: On account of the date for holding the Shipston Petty Sessions falling on Boxing Day the Court will not sit. The next Court will be held on Jan. 9.

Blockley: Peter William Duggan, of High Street, Blockley, is at eight-years-old, fast becoming a crack shot with a .22 rifle. Peter does not look as though he totes a gun. He is about average height for his age, wears short trousers and has blue eyes, curly blond hair and a grand smile. But those who have seen him at work on the Home Guard rifle range, Moreton, know he's a lad to be reckoned with when getting bulls.

Cotswold: That unique mixture of the profound and the preposterous again characterised the Bourton Vale School's annual Christmas show at Bourton on the Water. Called Father Times Progress, it was a review of Christmas past and present.
