THINGS are definitely looking "awight" for a Vale singer after she found herself to be one of Michael Barrymore's kind of people.
Next month sees Debbie Miles make her TV debut on the top funnyman's show My Kind of Music.
The programme was filmed in October, but Debbie, from Lower Moor, remains tight-lipped over what she sang and how she and husband Cliff Gottfried fared in the music quiz part of the show.
Debbie, aged 30, said: "This is a dream come true for me!
" I've been dedicated to the business for 15 years now and it's a real achievement with all the hard work and experience paying off."
The former Pershore High School pupil started singing in talent contests and with the Derek Bruce Showband before turning professional in 1985.
Since then she has performed at Vale venues like Evesham Working Men's Club and at bigger hotels and cabaret clubs around the UK, alongside names such as Eddie Large, Tom O'Connor and Stan Boardman.
Describing herself as a solo-cabaret artist, she sings a variety of songs and styles ranging from big band numbers to covers.
"My dream when I was a little girl was to be a singer," she says.
"I've already surpassed my own expectations and if the show opens any doors for me then this will simply be a bonus."
