WORCESTER Rugby Club's Sixways Conference Centre has enjoyed its most successful Christmas ever, organisers have reported.
The commercial side of the National Division One leaders produced more than 2,300 traditional Christmas meals over the festive holiday.
Head chef Kevin Harford and his team of six proved that good preparation and training is essential for culinary victory as well as rugby by cooking a mountain of food over December.
More than 175 kilograms of vegetables, 35 kilograms of stuffing and bacon, 1,500 turkey escallops, 200 litres of gravy and 400 litres of soup were prepared in the three kitchens at the Sixways site.
Guests tucked into 250 Christmas puddings, and 1,200 mince pies and stollen cakes, washed down with 600 litres of custard and cream.
"We're already taking orders for next season," said commercial manager Kathy Leather.
"The hard work of all our staff was rewarded with our most productive period to date."
