THE bells rang out on Christmas Eve to call the people to Midnight Mass at St Peter's Church where, in spite of the wet conditions of the winter's night, over 120 people attended the service, led by the Rev David Nichol.
The choir led the singing and sang the carols Carol, Sweetly Carol and Twas On A Winter Cold, accompanied on organ by Lyn Brown. The reading was by Sally Gurney and prayers of intercession were led by Lyn Snook.
But Christmas Day brought sunshine for the morning service when Joan Roper read from Isaiah and Neville Radburn led the prayers. The Christmas Crib this year displayed new figures of the Holy Family, adored by shepherds and kings, which had been lovingly made by members of the Sewing Group.
On Sunday, New Year's Eve, the morning service at St Peter's will be at the earlier time of 10.30am, and will be a United Benefice Holy Com-munion (there being no other service in the Parish). Churches Together in Malvern hold a special service for New Year's Eve in Malvern Priory at 6.30pm. All are invited.
