POLICE are warning drivers to continue taking extra care on the roads if they venture out following 17 accidents in south Worcestershire yesterday (Thursday).
Of the 17 accidents reported, 14 were damage only. Five people were treated at hospitals after accidents which occurred outside Worcester Royal Infirmary, at Sandys Lane, Malvern and at Pebworth on the Worcestershire/Warwickshire border.
Sgt Mel Ellis, from Worcester Police, said: "Conditions are extremely hazardous and although the major trunk roads have been gritted during the early hours and will continue to be so, the minor roads are treacherous.
"Please do not make journeys unless they are absolutely necessary and if you must drive please drive a lot more slowly and leave a lot more room between yourself and the vehicle in front of you."
