SWIMMING: Talented Kidderminster swimmer Andy Lowe improved on his fine win in the 100-metre butterfly final at the Worcester County Championships held throughout March.
Lowe went on to win the finals in the 200m freestyle and the 100m backstroke in a national qualifying time.
Lowe's Australian-born chief coach, Malcolm Latta, at Worcester Swimming Club said, "Andy's haul of nine gold, four silver and two bronze medals is a fantastic achievement, he is a real credit to himself and the club."
The teenager is studying in Worcester and after taking a gap year in the USA, hopes to go on to Loughborough University to study sport sciences and leisure.
Lowe was also first in the 17/18 years 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle, medley and freestyle relays and the open age group medley relay.
He recorded seconds in the county final 200m backstroke and 17/18 years 200m individual medley, 200m backstroke and open freestyle relay.
And there were bronzes in the 200m individual medley county final and 100m freestyle.
Lowe competes in the National Student Games at Millfield in Somerset this weekend and the British National Swimming Championships in July.
