CHESS: Kidderminster Chess Club secretary Maurice Bissell captained Worcestershire's first team to a 6.5-5.5 victory over Lincolnshire at Leicester, despite losing his match.
At one stage, Worcestershire were down 2-0 but the team fought back.
The only other Kidderminster representative in the side, Mark Riley, drew his game.
However, Kidderminster paid the penalty for being forced to field a weakened team in Wolverhampton League Division One.
Their 4-2 defeat by Stafford has put them out of the championship race.
