THE search is on for information about the history of a Victorian hotel in Mount Pleasant.
Little is known about the Montville Hotel but owners Andrew and Joanna Hodges are keen to contact people who can fill in the missing gaps in what appears to be a long history.
What is known about the building, opposite the Woodland Cottage pub, is that it used to be a 'gentlemen's house' and later, a bed and breakfast.
Mr Hodges said: 'We've had guests check in who said they remember the hotel years ago and I just became intrigued.
'We also had a lady who emigrated to Australia come back who used to work here and she remembered it as it was and told me about some of the changes.
'I was told there used to be a public air raid shelter next door which was interesting but apart from it being Victorian, I don't know anything else.'
Mr Hodges added: 'I would be interested in any history, maybe famous people who may have visited or old photos or memorabilia.'
Anyone who can help can call Mr and Mrs Hodges on 544411 between 9am-5pm.
