A POLICE officer buying a takeaway supper was greeted by cries of "pig" and threats of violence in the shop, magistrates have heard.
A woman shouted obscene abuse and her husband ripped open his shirt and offered to fight PC James Crowther, said Kiernan Cunningham, prosecuting at Kidderminster.
James Loveridge, 32, and his wife Susan, 34, of Cobham Road, Kidderm-inster, were conditionally discharged for a year and ordered to share £55 costs.
They admitted causing fear of violence at the Park Street takeaway.
Both had had too much to drink, said their solicitor, Charles Hobbs.
They reacted to the officer's presence by becoming involved in what they called "a slanging match".
