I HAVE read, with interest, the recent council publications "NewsWyre" and "Words into Action".

However do we get value for money?

Council Tax for my house has increased by the following: 1995-96 (4 per cent), 96-97 (5.8 per cent), 97-98 (6.1 per cent), 98-99 (8.4 per cent), 99-2000 (9.4 per cent), 2000-2001 (9.9 per cent), 2001-2 (9 per cent).

These figures are far above the 1.1 to 3.3 per cent inflation figures for this period.

Both Wyre Forest and Worcestershire councils should improve their efficiency, and only the councillors we elect can do it.

It is about time that we had value for money out of them.

It should be noted that for the second time in two years our Council Tax is rated in the higher of the top 10 councils in the UK.

How can this be justified?
