Norton Rgrs U-13 3, Newtown 1
SUNDAY'S replay was worthy of the League Cup final itself as the league's two unbeaten sides crossed swords.
Norton, sporting a new strip and drill tops donated by Bullrus gained revenge for a penalty shoot-out defeat 12 months ago but a repeat looked on the cards when Newtown took an 18th minute lead.
Rangers levelled 15 minutes later when Dan Cotterill headed in a corner, the prelude to a thrilling second half that saw Newtown hit the woodwork twice, have a penalty appeal refused and Norton keeper Alex Gretton produce a string of fine saves.
Player of the match Ashley Wilkes provided a rich supply of penetrative passes and, from one such move, Tristan Buckleigh netted after James Muddiman's shot had been parried.
Newtown now swarmed forward as Rangers clung to their narrow lead and the visitors were caught out at the back when Ashley Knight was fouled in the penalty area and Buckleigh made it 3-1.
Bredon Colts U-10 2, Campden 0
BREDON booked a place in the Plate Final after a confident display against their Cotswolds opponents.
Jamie Annand scored the opener from close-range but it wasn't until Josh Keen struck after the break that Colts were able to secure their final date.
Littleton Jnrs U-10 0,
Evesham Utd 1
LITTLETON tasted defeat for the first time this season when losing to their closest rivals by a solitary strike.
The visitors forced Littleton on to the back foot and, from one of a number of corners, Lance Smith was allowed space at the back post to stab in the winner from close-range.
The hosts tested out the Evesham rearguard after the break but they were unable to break through a stubborn defence in which Tom Adam Miles was outstanding.
Matt Smith fired an effort wide from distance and then headed narrowly past a post, while Tom Cuthbert could have grabbed a late leveller.
Stratford Utd Jnrs U-11 0,
Bredon Colts 1
A GOAL from top scorer James Offord clinched victory and a place in the League Cup final.
Bredon produced a strong and confident display against tough opponents and one goal proved sufficient when Offord beat the offside trap before coolly steering the ball into the net to give his side the interval advantage.
More goals seemed inevitable after the break with Andy Higdon and William Cook in top form in the Bredon midfield as Stratford were forced on to the back foot.
Player of the match Dave Mace was causing all kinds of problems for the hosts but it needed a last minute penalty save from Jamie Moore to prevent extra time.
Moore touched the ball on to the crossbar and smothered the rebound.
Salford Rvrs U-12 4,
Brockhampton Badgers 1
ROVERS sealed a place in the final of the Mercian League Cup with a well deserved success despite being held 0-0 at half time.
The home defence were in control as Badgers forced the early pace but, once Jamie Randall broke the deadlock after the interval, there was only going to be one winner.
Jamie Coughlan's 20-yard strike doubled Salford's lead and the same player made it 3-0 with a fine lob. Matt Layton's brilliant header secured victory despite the visitors hitting a late consolation.
Jack Steadman was named Salford's player of the match.
Bredon U-9 1, Peopleton Rovers 2
ROVERS opened well against powerful opponents and took the lead after ten minutes.
Good work from Matt Raven saw Ricky Allen's shot parried but Andrew Geoghan was on hand to score after the scramble.
Bredon levelled within five minutes when Rovers failed to clear a cross and Danny Kleiber hooked the ball into the net.
Jake Patterson produced a couple of magnificent saves to ensure interval parity but the goalkeeper was given no chance when a cross shot was deflected past him as Peopleton regained the lead.
Bredon attacked continually in the closing stages but they couldn't prise out an equaliser as a last-ditch tackle from Alex Griffiths ensured an away win.
Peopleton U-13 1, Welland 2 (aet)
PEOPLETON missed out on a final place after a tough cup tie when they fell behind to Welland's first corner.
Goalline clearances twice denied the hosts before Mike Bulford's brilliant long-range lob forced extra time.
There were chances at both ends but it was Joe Smith who again found the net to give Welland the victory.
