Kempsey 1, Littleton 3

IN their replayed Baylis Cup semi-final tie, Littleton confirmed the result of the first game with a 3-1 victory at Kempsey.

Darren Reeves, who scored the first three in the first match, was on target again scoring the first two last Saturday.

As in the first game, Littleton took the lead in the first minute. A left wing corner from Steve Pitcher was hammered in on the half-volley by Reeves from 11 yards giving the keeper no chance.

Five minutes later it was almost 2-0 when Des Cox burst through the middle but his shot was saved by the keeper's legs and scrambled clear.

However, it was Kempsey who scored next. From a corner on the left, the ball dropped to Sam Pallet who drove home from ten yards.

Littleton retaliated immediately. From a Cox cross, Reeves was just over with a cross shot but they regained the lead in the 22nd minute.

From a long ball down the middle from Matt-hew Edwards, Darren Reeves back headed the ball over the advancing keeper.

In the 42nd minute Kempsey had to change their keeper and he was immediately tested, scrambling a Pitcher cross clear. He was, however, beaten on the stroke of half time, but a shot from David Tomkotowicz struck a post.

In the second half, with the wind on their backs, Kempsey attacked for the first quarter without creating too many clear-cut openings. Littleton's back four of Pitcher, Major, Buttle and Edwards restricted their opportunities to long shots which were easily dealt with.

As the game wore on, Littleton began to catch Kempsey on the break. Twice they hit the post through Cox and Gledhill but eventually clinched the game seven minutes from time when Tomkotowicz laid the ball across the edge of the box to Tim Davies who hit a rising drive into the top corner.
