Crown & Anchor 1 Bishampton 6
BISHAMPTON recovered from being a goal down inside two minutes to hit back six times and record their second comfortable victory over the Crown this season.
On a very large and uneven pitch the visitors were rocked in the home side's first attack, when David Marsh ran clear of the defence to strike the ball past Rob Bille.
Bishampton struggled to get their game together and Marsh was always the main threat for the home team but lacked support from his teammates.
United's Max Woodward brought a good save from Philip Bretherton which was to prove the best chance either side had until Bishampton drew level in the 33rd minute.
Mark Taylor found Stuart Hubball with a fine ball into the penalty area, and he coolly guided the ball past Bretherton.
Three minutes later the visitors went in front when, after a corner had not been cleared, the ball fell to Carlo Longhi who made no mistake from eight yards.
This knocked the stuffing out of the Crown and it was a surprise they didn't concede more goals before half- time.
However, as the second half settled down the home team could have equalised when Richard John was left unmarked, but his shot was well saved by Bille.
This brief pressure was soon to end when, after 58 minutes, a good ball from Tony George was flicked on by Matt Bicknell for Longhi to score his second and kill off any hope of the hosts getting back into the game.
Two minutes later, United increased their lead with keeper Bille claiming an assist. His long kick cleared the home defence for Bicknell to calmly lob the ball into the net.
Bishampton then proceeded to miss several golden chances before substitute Andrew Murphy scored twice in quick succession after good work by both Bicknell and Mark Insall to stretch their unbeaten run to four games - a season's best.
