I SUPPORT Mr S Jones (Letters, March 8) and Roger Thurston (Letters, March 22) on the subject of cycle lanes.
Every effort should be given to protect the cyclist and pedestrian, but these lanes are a total waste of money.
I have noticed that vehicles normally leave this distance from the kerb when driving anyway, so is this white line some sort of magical safety barrier?
Traffic stacking back up the hill has always been a problem due to the right turn at the traffic lights into Sutton Road.
This should be a "no right turn" and local traffic (light vehicles only) could use back roads into Sutton Road and heavy vehicles should be directed around the ring road.
