WEST Midlands Police held out for 19 minutes before classy Stourport Swifts ran out 8-0 winners in the Midland Alliance at Walshes Meadow.
Tuesday's result keeps Swifts five points behind leaders Barwell with two games in hand.
They maintain their challenge with Bloxwich's visit on Saturday and a trip to Stourbridge next Tuesday.
Swifts took the lead against the Police when Lee Booth recovered after a strong run and fed Lea Shaw to score.
A 23rd-minute run and cross by Adrian Cooper was side-footed home by Paul Moore.
Simon Marsh and Booth converted headers from crosses by Shaw and Moore to extend the score-line.
Sub Ross Knight allowed Swifts to turn the screw even further as his first cross was finished off by Alex Cowley.
Matt Southwick made it six after Marsh nicked a loose back-pass, rounded the keeper and laid the ball back.
Then a Steve Ulfig pass to Cowley was moved on to an unmarked Marsh who steered home from 10 yards.
Swifts' keeper Rob Clarke made only his second save of the match, denying Chris Burton from 10 yards.
But Knight ended another goal romp when he fired home a Marsh cross from 12 yards.
