Bengeworth: Henry Masters, a market gardener from Bengeworth, was charged with driving a horse and trap with no light at Hampton on Thursday. PC Merritt proved the case and the defendant was fined 5s, including costs.

Evesham: The Evesham Town Silver Band will open the season on the Workman Gardens for promenade concerts and dancing this Saturday evening. They will give two concerts tomorrow at 3pm and 7.45pm where there will be a collection.
50 years ago, March 31, 1951
Evesham: The public health sub committee will report to the meeting of Worcestershire County Health Committee on Saturday that they have agreed the need for a scheme for the construction of a new sewage works for Evesham which was the subject of local inquiry in 1944. The estimated capital cost prepared by the Borough Council's Consulting Engineer is £133,500 as compared with £79,785 in 1944. The annual running costs are likely to be proportionately increased.

Norton: Evesham firemen had a wasted journey when they answered a call to a house in Evesham Road, Norton. The alarm was raised when a pan caught fire in the kitchen but it was out when they got there.
