A PENSIONER whose daughter was "overwhelmed" by support from friends in Kidderminster when he was attacked with an iron bar in his own home has died.
Eighty-seven-year-old George Dale, from Ladywood in Birmingham, died on Friday.
He had been treated in hospital since the attack on March 16.
His daughter Linda, 52, who has lived in Kidderminster for more than 30 years, told the Shuttle/Times and News last week that doctors had told the family to be prepared for the worst.
She had been sent messages from well-wishers across the district following the attack on the war veteran, which had left him with a broken neck and spinal damage.
A man has been arrested in connection with the attack.
