PRIZE BINGO: A prize bingo evening was held at the village hall on March 27 to raise funds for the Worcester Scanner Appeal for the hospital. Organised by Mrs D Hickmott and Mrs C Norton, the caller, Mr A Donnelly, welcomed everyone and bingo prize winners were, Mrs Amphlett, Mrs W Dufty, Mrs P Haines, Mrs S Roberts, Mrs E Rayner, Mrs D Ludlow, Mrs M Evans, Mrs B Smith, Mr K Evans, Mrs W Norton, Mrs D Morgan, Mrs K Ricketts and Mrs A Pallett.

Raffles were won by Mrs D Hickmott, Mrs J Jones, Mr E Haines, Mrs F Daley, Mr K Norton, Mrs E Rowley, Mrs M Gill, Mr A Donnelly, Mrs D Pritchard, Mrs P Griffiths, Mrs S Fenton, Mrs P Hiden, Mrs P Griffin, Mrs D Swinbourne, Mrs J Donnelly, Mrs W Duffty, Mrs M Cullwick, Mrs M Berwick, Mrs B Cullwick, Mrs J Sheperd and others. An Easter rabbit and eggs competition was held. Mr Donnelly expressed appreciation to all who had attended the evening, donors, helpers and organisers of the event. A profit of £103 was raised for the scanner appeal.

WHIST DRIVE: Sixteen tables were in play at the whist drive, held in the village hall on the evening of March 29. The event was organised by Miss F Ricketts and Mrs B Hodges to raise funds for the County Air Ambulance Service. Mr John Chester was MC. Mr C Bromfield, drawmaster.

Whist, raffles and mystery prizes were won by, Mrs P Miles, Mr D Bunn, Mrs M Brown, Mrs J Rose, Mrs R Sowerbutts, Mr P Macarthy, Mrs M Jones, Mrs M Gill, Mr D Farmer, Mrs O Timm, Mr C Griffin, Mrs H Archer, Mr D Crook, Mrs M Greaves, Mrs B Bromfield, Mrs E Warner, Mr B Jones, Mrs W Norris, Mrs M Halling, Miss F Ricketts, Mrs J Jackson, Mr E Willis, Mrs O Taylor, Mr G Errington, Mrs J Knight and Miss J Wilesmith. Mr Chester announced future dates of local whist drives. Refreshments were organised during the evening.
